Shizuoka Kawane sencha green tea is a specialty tea renowned for its mellow, yet rich glassy taste. The needle-like tea leaves has a very enticing and sweet aromas that balance really well with sushi or any japanese cuisine.

Shizuoka Kawane sencha green tea is produced in Kawane region located in the prefecture of Shizuoka. The tea leaves are harvested at the mountain height of 800m where cool breeze and spring like temperature brings out the uniques taste of Kawane tea leaves. The nearby alpine spring water flows gently and quietly to the tea farm when the soil picks up the essential mineral and nutrients to gives the Kawane green tea leaves the extra tasty treat.

Kawane green tea has a after taste bitterness, but it is especially popular among men.

Brewing Method

Quantity
Each cup 2.25 grams of tea per 6 ounces of water, or about 1 teaspoon of green tea.

Steeping
Steeped 2 to 3 minutes.

Temperature
Sencha Green teas should be prepared with 80°C to 90°C (180°F to 190°F) water. Noted that boiling water will rid of the Sencha leaves flavor and the tea will become overly astringent.

Water

Mineral Water is highly recommended because it enhace the flavor with mineral. Hard water results in a flat taste while distilled water without any mineral will brew a tastless tea
