Product Description

Our highly anticipated 2011 Shincha is here!!

Shincha literally means "New Tea" came from the same family of Sencha tea leaves. Shincha represents the first month's harvest of Sencha. It has a very special robust glassy flavor with minimum astringency. Very high vitamin content, and sweetness level. Exceptionally propular in Japan due to his limited availability. Harvested in the mountainous region of southern Kyoto with plentiful of natural water, rich soil and spring temperature.

Tea Plantation:

Nagata Sencha is produced by the Nagata Family who unlike most farmers was the first to produce Organic Tea in Uji Chaen, Japan. Tea farm is located at Southern Kyoto. Instead of using fertilizers, chemical, animal manure, herbicides or pesticides to fertile their tea garden soil, the Nagatas have discovered new agricultural methods to nurture tea plant that will produce tea twice as long a period of time and twice as powerful as their nutritious value.

The Nagata Family's passion, dedication and perseverance to make the finest tea have finally paid off. Now, we can enjoy green tea from Uji's centuries old tea plantation that is respectfully referred to as Uji-Chaen.

Quality, Flavor, Aromas:

Quality, Aromas, Color, Flavor of sencha is highly variable, and depends not only on origin but also the processing method

Aromas
Sweet and grassy.

Flavor (Taste)
Shincha have a very sweet taste and aromas. Since our Shincha are harvested in early Spring, its high mineral and vitamin added more sweetness to the flavor.

Shincha has a sweet taste, a weak Hika* aromas, and a superior flavor.

Brewing Method:

Quantity Each cup 2.25 grams of tea per 6 ounces of water, or about 1 teaspoon of green tea.

Steeping Steeped 2 to 3 minutes.

Temperature Sencha Green teas should be prepared with 80°C to 90°C (180°F to 190°F) water. Noted that boiling water will rid of the Sencha leaves flavor and the tea will become overly astringent.

Water Mineral Water is highly recommended. Hard water will result in a flat taste while distilled water without any mineral will brew a tasteless tea. It is best to brew the tea only 1 time.
